Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight and the sin that clings so closely, and let us run with perseverance the race that is set before us Hebrews 12:1
Our Heritage
For more than 140 years, First Methodist Church has been part of the San Angelo community—a place where generations have gathered to worship, grow in faith, serve others, and share the love of Jesus Christ.
Throughout our history, God’s faithfulness has sustained and shaped our church. While ministries, buildings, and generations have changed, our calling remains—to make disciples of Jesus Christ and faithfully serve our community and the world.
We celebrate where God has brought us, while looking with hope and excitement toward where He is leading us next.
Our story is deeply rooted in Scripture and the Wesleyan and Methodist traditions that continue to shape our faith, worship, and understanding of what it means to follow Christ.

Our Pastoral History
Throughout the years, First Methodist has been blessed by generations of pastors who have faithfully proclaimed the Gospel, cared for our congregation, and provided spiritual leadership through many seasons of ministry.
Their leadership is an important part of our story and the legacy of faith that continues at First Methodist today.
Celebrating Our Past. Faithful in the Present. Hopeful for the Future.
We are grateful for the generations who have gone before us, thankful for what God is doing among us today, and excited to see how He will continue to use First Methodist Church, San Angelo in the years ahead.
