Thank you for your interest in the Lakeview Lighthouse, a mission outreach of First Methodist Church. Located near Goliad Elementary School on the north side of San Angelo, the Lighthouse serves local families through education, health, and neighborhood outreach.

Serving Goliad Elementary
As a Community Partner of Goliad Elementary School, we support special events both on campus and at the Lighthouse. Church volunteers serve as classroom readers and tutors, assist with school events, and encourage faculty and staff through appreciation activities and breakroom treats.
Community Services
The Lighthouse provides:
- A community food pantry
- Children’s and family clothing assistance
- Community health services and education through a dedicated Wesley Nurse
- Space for neighborhood events, local service projects, and visiting mission teams

Volunteer and Get Involved
Whether you enjoy working with children, organizing donations, supporting community health programs, or welcoming mission teams, there is a place for you to serve at the Lighthouse.
Goliad Elementary Community Partnership
Volunteers are needed as classroom readers and tutors, as well as for special events such as Open House, Grandparents Day, and the Fall Festival. Volunteers can also help with faculty appreciation and support.
Food Pantry
The Food Pantry is held on the second and fourth Mondays of the month from 1:00–3:00 p.m. Guests may select the items their families need. Volunteers can help welcome guests, complete check-in and checkout, assist with forms, and stock pantry shelves.
Clothing Ministry
The Lighthouse currently operates a children’s clothing closet, with plans to expand it into a family clothing ministry. Volunteers are needed to sort and pack clothing at First Methodist Church’s downtown location, help move items to the Lighthouse, and assist on distribution days.
Wesley Nurse and Community Health Education
Lesa Parry, RN, serves through Methodist Healthcare Ministries and has offices at both First Methodist Church and the Lighthouse. Programs include breast cancer awareness, cooking and nutrition classes, diabetes education, general healthcare courses, support for mothers and infants, and connections to local resources.
Volunteers are especially helpful during classes, screenings, and other special events.

Mission Team Support and Service Projects
The Lighthouse occasionally hosts visiting mission teams. Volunteers may help provide meals or assist with other needs based on the size and purpose of each group.
The facility also supports local service projects, including wheelchair-ramp module construction, as well as community gatherings and private events.

These past few weeks have been filled with opportunities to serve, connect, and share God’s love with our neighbors. We’re thankful for every volunteer who gives their time, every family who joins us, and every person who helps make the Lighthouse a meaningful part of the Lake View community. Together, we’re building relationships, serving our neighbors, and sharing the light of Christ beyond the walls of our church.
