NextGen Director
First Methodist Church is seeking a full-time NextGen Director to build and lead a thriving ministry for students and emerging adults.
This position offers an exciting opportunity to develop and shape a meaningful ministry for middle school and high school students, with an emphasis on biblical teaching, discipleship, leadership development, outreach, and relationship-building. As the ministry grows, the NextGen Director will also help cultivate opportunities for college students and young adults to build authentic community, deepen their faith, and remain connected to the life of the church.
We are looking for a visionary and relational leader who loves investing in the next generation, faithfully teaches God’s Word, equips and encourages volunteers, and is passionate about helping students and young adults become lifelong disciples of Jesus Christ.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will:
- Have a growing and vibrant personal relationship with Jesus Christ, demonstrated through spiritual maturity, integrity, and a heart for discipleship.
- Have a clear calling to ministry with students and the next generation.
- Be in full agreement with the doctrine, mission, and values of First Methodist Church, San Angelo and the Global Methodist Church.
- Hold a bachelor’s degree, preferably in ministry, theology, education, or a related field. A degree is desired but not required.
- Have experience leading student ministry or a related ministry in a church setting.
- Be able to teach and communicate God’s Word in a biblically faithful, engaging, and applicable way.
- Demonstrate the ability to recruit, equip, encourage, and lead volunteers while developing healthy ministry teams.
- Possess strong relational skills and communicate effectively with students, parents, volunteers, and church staff.
- Have excellent organizational, communication, and administrative skills.
- Be a self-starter who is comfortable building ministry, developing systems, and taking initiative.
- Have a heart for reaching students who are not currently connected to a church.
- Desire to invest in college students and young adults and create opportunities for continued discipleship beyond high school.
- Work collaboratively under the leadership of the Senior Pastor and as part of a unified church staff.
- Successfully complete all required background checks and comply with the church’s child protection policies.

Custodial Staff Member
First Methodist Church is seeking a dependable Custodial Staff Member to help maintain a clean, welcoming, and well-cared-for environment throughout our church facilities.
Responsibilities
- Perform general cleaning, including dusting, sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming.
- Clean and sanitize restrooms and replenish supplies.
- Empty trash receptacles and properly dispose of waste.
- Maintain an inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment.
- Assist with minor maintenance tasks, such as changing light bulbs and addressing minor facility needs.
- Follow proper safety procedures when using cleaning products and equipment.
Qualifications
- Previous cleaning, janitorial, or custodial experience is preferred.
- Familiarity with commercial cleaning practices is helpful.
- Basic knowledge of facility maintenance and cleaning procedures is preferred.
- Dependability, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently are important.
- Applicants must be able to successfully complete a background check.
Compensation & Benefits
Pay: Starting at $14.00 per hour
