Adult Faith Formation

"By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another." ∼ John 13:35

Get connected and deepen your faith at First Methodist Church, San Angelo through a variety of small groups, Bible Studies and outreach efforts.

We partner with local organizations such as Daily Bread Soup Kitchen, Meals for the Elderly, Somebody’s Rusty, Child Protective Services, Texas Ramps and many others, to make a positive impact around the City. Mission Teams travel every few years to Costa Rica to teach kids about Jesus and to do construction work, and local projects are scheduled as needed. Each Sunday breakfast is provided at the church to anyone who is hungry, and the Methodist Assistance program offers ongoing food assistance during the week.

Our adult Sunday School classes meet weekly at 9:30am. There are several ongoing study groups, such as the Morning Glories group for women that meets weekly on Tuesdays at 10am, and the Wednesday Night Friends study group that meets weekly at 6pm. First Church encourages and supports the Walk to Emmaus 3-day spiritual retreat for men and women, and offers seasonal and short-term studies, including GriefShare support for the loss of loved ones.

The church family gathers often for large events such as Trunk-or-Treat, outdoor worship, and special events held at the Lake View Lighthouse on the north side of San Angelo. Members support the church by volunteering to help in the office, working with children or youth, serving communion, singing in the choir or band, being a teacher, ushering, visitation, and many other leadership roles.
